John 19:8-10

⁸ When Pilate heard this, he became even more afraid. ⁹ Returning to his headquarters,^[a] he asked Jesus, “Where are you from?”

But Jesus did not answer him.

¹⁰ So Pilate asked him, “Aren’t you going to speak to me? You realize, don’t you, that I have the authority to release you and the authority to crucify you?”
